The Heart of the Universe Incarnate
A starry sky looms large over us,
Yet, no products of the loom cover us,
Besides this blanket we share beside
each
other.
Streaking stars illuminate our arched ceiling,
Dipping and dodging through midnight’s gaseous substance.
Arcs of light, racing towards an end
which we no longer can witness.
Hopefully they arrive at justice.
Staring starward in unison
plays tricks on our eyes.
If we both see the same sights simultaneously,
are we intertwined as one,
in that brief instant?
The current pulsing within my entirety
certainly lends credence to such a theory.
You find the answer with an insatiable smile,
the gravitational pull of which
is too great to resist.
I find myself careening through the atmosphere,
as I fall towards you.
With all the universe swirling around us tonight,
perhaps we are the heart of the universe incarnate.
