Awash in Light

The sun’s gaze paints

a glazed grin above my chin.

As do you.

With warmth of ancient love,

the kind that tickles your cheekbones

my everything awakens.

I relish the heat of our star,

standing comatose for an instant.

Celestial chords of sunshine stun my senses.

As do you.

Awash in light, which erupted,

for a brief instant, through space,

I am cleansed of all thoughts, save bliss.

Such a beam of holiness,

undeserved, yet unyielding.

It’s beacon navigates through the morass and pain.

It’s torch ignites my passion, no matter the day.

As do you.
