The Moon and Sun
I’ve been trying to sew the holes in my jeans
And I can feel things
I like you because you don’t hate everything
I look and feel an undying energy in you
I had to take some time to realize
Life didn't have to be so heavy
So here I am coming back to you
After all, it’s just life
I think we can share it
Or at least, let us pretend
So we can, for the first time, fathom the intention of our words
If you’ll join me
We can wait for the fading light
Let’s be beautiful creatures that distort the night
And we’ll wear constellations above our heads
If only for a little while, we can be present and savor
Let us pretend
The way it was before we grew tall
and shaved,
and loved,
and lost.
