The Dichotomy of Balance

Life is a balance, the crux of which rests upon two forces

A balance between spontaneity and impulsiveness

That pushes against order and safety

Impulsiveness is indulged when order becomes too predictable

And order installed when safety is the the most dangerous option

Safety leads to desire of recklessness, for which most mistakes,

Can be taken credit for.

As each end of the balance rises, it grows heavy within my thoughts

Gravity must pull it down, for the risk of recklessness is ever present

Much like the soft needles of the snow covered evergreen,

a reminder of life in the darkest of times,

Will melt.

Ice turns to water,

life emerges from the depths,

Forevermore.
